FOB Detector for Kegs | Cellar Buoy Foam on Beer Detector
The Cellar Buoy FOB Detector for Kegs automatically detects when a keg runs empty and shuts off the beer flow before gas and foam can enter the beer line. Designed for professional draught beer dispense systems, this foam-on-beer detector helps keep beer lines full between keg changes, reducing beer waste and the time needed to get the line pouring correctly again.
Suitable for pubs, bars, restaurants, breweries, festivals and mobile bar systems, the Cellar Buoy FOB Detector uses a simple float system to automatically stop product flow when the keg empties.
Cellar Buoy Foam on Beer Detector
A FOB (Foam on Beer) detector is installed in the beer line between the keg and dispense point. During normal operation, beer passes through the chamber and keeps the internal float raised.
When the keg empties, the float drops and automatically shuts off the product line. This prevents gas and excessive foam from travelling further through the beer line.
Once a new keg has been connected, the Cellar Buoy can be reset and the line returned to normal operation.
Helps Keep Beer Lines Primed
Without a FOB detector, an empty keg can allow gas and foam to travel through the beer line. On longer draught beer installations, this can result in beer being wasted while the line is pulled back through after changing the keg.
Installing a FOB Detector for Kegs helps keep the downstream beer line full, reducing product loss and making keg changes quicker.
Quick Reset After Changing a Keg
The Cellar Buoy is designed for straightforward resetting after a keg change.
The unit features a push-button bleed valve with a 3/16" push-fit outlet and a simple float-release mechanism. Once the new keg is connected, the chamber can be refilled and the float released ready for normal dispense.
3/8" Push-Fit Beer Line Connections
The Cellar Buoy beer FOB detector features 3/8" push-fit connections, allowing it to be incorporated into compatible draught beer pipework.
A wall mounting bracket is supplied for secure installation. For best performance, the FOB should be fitted on the pressurised product line close to the keg.
Suitable for Flojet Pump Systems
The Cellar Buoy is suitable for use across a wide range of draught drinks installations, including compatible systems using Flojet beer pumps.
This makes it suitable for both conventional cellar installations and more complex or remote draught dispense systems.
